Don’t cha wish The Pussycat Dolls would make a comeback?
Well, lucky you, because it’s been announced that the girl group is set to reunite… it’s only taken them a decade! It’s also taken quite a hefty amount of cash to persuade these ladies to get back together.
I mean, they’ve all been busy, right?
Keep scrolling to learn all about the reunion and what everyone’s been up to for the last ten years.
The tour has now been announced for next year – although one famous face is set to be conspicuously absent.
Look how young they once were!
Well naturally… everyone’s young at some point. Unless you were born old, like Brad Pitt in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
The Pussycat Dolls brought serious dance back to pop music.
Forget rubbing bods against walls and smoldering glances towards to cameras, something we endured from other girl groups in the early ’00s. The Pussycat Dolls were a group that was designed to dance. The girl group, hailing from Los Angeles, was as much a dance troupe as they were singers.
The group began with a burlesque choreographer, Robin Antin.
Antin actually thought up “The Pussycat Dolls” in 1995 as a burlesque troupe.
After the act gained widespread acclaim, the concept was bought up by A&M Records. This was when Nicole and the girls were roped in and The Pussycat Dolls that we remember today were born.
Robin Antin remained involved as the girl group’s choreographer.
The Pussycat Dolls had a string of successful hits.
The self-titled debut album was released in 2005 and sold over 3 million copies in the U.S. alone.
“Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny).”
One of the group’s most successful tracks you might remember was “Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny).”
Inspired by the song at the end of the hit movie, Slumdog Millionaire, The Pussycat Dolls took the melody and made their own version.
Despite the song’s success, the group went on a hiatus shortly after.
Being a Pussycat Doll wasn’t always easy…
Nicole Scherzinger has since opened up about how the skimpy costumes and critical reception that the girls received led to her developing an eating disorder.
Scherzinger was not comfortable revealing her body and has revealed that she spent years battling bulimia. Speaking to The Independent in 2014, she recalled: “I had started losing my voice, I couldn’t sing at shows, and then I remember my manager finding me passed out on the floor in Malta or in the south of France. I thought, ‘I’m going to lose everything I love if I don’t love myself.’”
The hiatus gave all of the Pussycat Dolls an opportunity to explore different avenues.
So, have you kept up with all of The Pussycat Dolls for the last ten years, or have some of them slipped off your radar? I can safely say that a few of them slipped off mine!
Remember Carmit Bachar?
An original Pussycat Doll member, Bachar was actually one of the main vocalists.
However, Carmit left the group before they announced the hiatus. She actually decided to leave-leave in February 2008. She left to move on to fresh pastures.
Something that she certainly has done! The singer is now in a band called LadyStation and has acted in a few movies.
You might remember catching Bachar in a few of my favorite movies! (13 going on 30 and Along Came Polly).
She’s also now a mommy to an adorable daughter, Keala.
Ladystation is described as an “electro-pop” band.

Although the band, which consists of Bachar and someone called Sammy Jay, it doesn’t seem to have had much commercial success.
Their music really isn’t bad. But It’s certainly a big step away from the music that Carmit Bachar was making alongside The Pussycat Dolls.
You can check out their Bandcamp here.
Ashley Roberts has become a U.K. favorite.
Bachar wasn’t the only Pussycat Doll to have explored the world of acting since the group disbanded.
Roberts actually took acting classes when refiguring her next career move following the hiatus. After getting all acting ready, Roberts decided to move to London and make it big in the U.K.
She currently performing in The West End right now, in the hit Waitress: The Musical.
Ashley Roberts has done the rounds on U.K. reality shows.
Roberts appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2012, which she almost won, but finished as runner-up. Then, in 2015, she appeared on the British ski slope show, The Jump.
By this point, Roberts had become a familiar face on British television and landed herself a role co-hosting the popular Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. She worked on the show from 2013 until 2016, securing her place as a family favorite presenter.
Ashley Roberts found love on Strictly Come Dancing.
While appearing on the British celebrity ballroom dancing TV show, Strictly Come Dancing, Roberts found love.
Falling for one of the professional dancers, Giovanni Pernice, during her appearance on the show in 2018, the couple has become a national favorite.
Not quite Posh and Becks, but certainly a beloved celeb couple.
What’s Jessica Sutta been up to?
Sutta has had actually quite a lot of success with her solo career.
The singer’s debut single, “Show Me,” was released in 2013 and reached number one on Billboard’s Dance Charts. She released her debut album, I Say Yes, in 2017. The album didn’t sell millions of records but, again, some of the tracks proved popular with the dance community and topped the charts.
Did you catch her on America’s Next Top Model?
Roberts and Scherzinger aren’t the only Pussycat Dolls that have done a bit of presenting. Since the girl group went on hiatus, Sutta has also dabbled in presenting.
You may well have caught Jessica Sutta on the 19th cycle of America’s Next Top Model, where she starred alongside other ex-girl band member, Nadine Cole, from U.K. pop group, Girls Aloud.
What’s Melody Thornton been up to, you ask?
If you recall, Melody was still pretty young when The Pussycat Dolls were formed. Thornton was recruited to strengthen the vocals of the group, but she was only nineteen-years-old at the time.
Thornton has continued her singing career.
Releasing her debut mixtape called P.O.Y.B.L in 2012, Thornton was finally given center stage – something that she felt that she never had in The Pussycat Dolls.
Of late, Thorton has not released much music. Instead, like many of the PCDs, she has turned her hand to reality T.V.
Thorton appeared in British reality-show, Celebs Go Dating, in 2017 and, this year, partook in the popular British ice-skating reality competition, Dancing On Ice.
What’s Kimberly Wyatt been doing?
Like many of The Pussycat Doll members, it seems, Wyatt has moved permanently to the U.K.
She is married to the British model, Max Rogers, and the pair now have two children.
Wyatt won Celebrity Masterchef!
Perhaps the most prestigious cooking show in all of the U.K. winning Masterchef really is a highly respected achievement.
Wyatt won the coveted award when she partook in 2015.
Of course, everyone knows that Nicole’s been busy.
The Pussycat Dolls’ frontwoman, Nicole Scherzinger hasn’t had a minute to herself since the group went on hiatus. It was, in fact, Nicole’s busy schedule that’s been rumored to be the reason why it has taken a decade for the group to reunite.
Nicole has been killing it as a presenter on The X-Factor U.K.
As part of Simon Cowell’s dream team, Scherzinger has become one of the most familiar faces on British television. Nicole started judging The X-Factor in 2012, for the generous salary of $1.7 million. She was so popular that, when asked to return the following year, she was paid a much healthier $2.3 million.
Scherzinger has recently been judging the popular U.S. show, The Masked Singer .
Now recognized all over the world as a judge (she also judged Australia’s Got Talent) Scherzingers’ most recent judging role has been on The Masked Singer.
Did you catch her Drop The Mic episode?
Perhaps one of the best episodes in the first season was when Nicole Scherzinger took on the comedian, Lil Rel Howery.
She certainly owned him with her impressive rap. She is clearly a woman of many talents!
Nicole had a high-profile romance during the hiatus.
Scherzinger had a very public relationship with Formula 1 World Champion, Lewis Hamilton.
The pair dated on and off for seven years, but broke up officially in 2015. Their relationship was a constant source of gossip for the British tabloid press.
Are they really getting back together?
With all the Pussycat Dolls with their fingers in different pies, and working on completely separate projects over the last ten years, is it really true that they are getting back together?
Surely, the time of The Pussycat Dolls is over… are there not younger, fresher faces that people would rather see?
Well, it seems like people still want the original Pussycat Dolls.
if the pussycat dolls reunited i would die
— richard nixon (@petitetaint) August 31, 2013
There are clearly plenty of people that are excited about the reunion.
No one else can compare!
No girl group will ever be on the same level as the pussycat dolls were, STILL
— Bethany Morrin (@bethanyanne_m) September 16, 2019
I mean, there can only be one The Pussycat Dolls, right?
Well, it’s a good job that someone offered Scherzinger a big bag of money.
Rumor has it, Nicole agreed to go on The Pussycat Dolls tour after being offered a million dollars.
I mean, it’s hard to say no to that, isn’t it?
And now the reunion tour has been confirmed.
The band is set to embark on a tour of the U.K. and Ireland, beginning in April of 2020.
But it won’t consist of the whole band.
One Pussycat Doll, Melody Thorton, is surreptitiously absent from the lineup.
Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Carmit Bachar, and Jessica Sutta will perform as a 5.
We’re still very excited!
Reunions seem to be the flavor of the month at the moment. Scroll on to see the cast of Parks & Rec, finally back together. Warning: the pics are very cute.
